This why I really like this forum, seems like there’s always someone offering great tips/help without making me feel like an idiot for being a novice at this stuff. I’m learning more and more from this site. Thank you for the info, I’ll try it this weekend.
as for the water/ arcing—- yes i sprayed water on the sparkplug wires, started the truck and shut the lights off to look for arcing—- then covered any arcs with rubber hose—-( internet thing lol)
Brand new plug wires and you are already experiencing arcing? Throw those things in the trash IMHO.
Be sure you have the plug wires routed to prevent misfire as well.

I have used Ford Racing plug wires with good results. Others swear by Taylor and other top name brands. Any plug wires that exhibit arcing right out of the box are garbage in my book.
1995 f150 5.8 with e4od—— original tranny and torque converter replaced 114,000 miles (napa) —— first tranny had a shudder in d and od on light acceleration ——replaced tranny and within a year shudder is back, also engine is missing——what are the chances the pcm is making this shudder—-(
Congrats on finding a plugwire issue. I just wanted to add my post here.
My PCM in my 1991 went bad and it toasted my solenoid pack. Also made my torque converter do a few funky things. Put in a new PCM and changed the pack and my shutter issues stopped. Here are a few photos of where my capacitors leaked that caused the issue.
Even though your issue wan't the EEC unit its not important not to over look it.
