HELP - EGR VALVE Broken

Pulling the egr valve today for routine cleaning and the electrical top half of the egr came off and left the mechanical valve itself stuck in the intake...

Anyone have this happen? How the hell did you get the rest egr out of the intake?

you should have put a little prybar under the metal portion ad slowly pry it up, their are 2 O-rings on the lower portion of the valve.

I get mine with pry bars as well I use 2 of them so it prys straight out
1 bar tends to **** it at an angle puts it into a bind

If you don't like the pry bar method they make a puller

The valve is probably junk now anyway, can you get a hold of what’s left with some vice grips and pry on that? I think the guys are just pointing out it has to come straight up. Even a little bit crooked and it will fight you the whole way. Maybe there is enough of the base left to still use the two pry bar method?

Can you rotate what is left if it to give you access to pry up on the bolt tabs?

The entire top came off including the tabs, picked up a new egr valve yesterday from Ford, going to try and get the valve body out of the intake tomorrow morning, I'm going to remove the throttle body and try to pop it up through the inside of the intake.

I'll upload photos in the morning.
