E4 OD bell housing leak help
Hello I have a 1990 F2 50 4 x 4 With automatic E4 OD transmission the transmission will leak when warm I remove transmission transmission pump coast clutch and found the intermediate overdrive snap ring loose and transmission I know this is a common issue my question is would it cause my transmission to him Ridge transmission with automatic E4 OD transmission the transmission will leak when warm I remove transmission transmission pump coast clutch and found the intermediate overdrive snap ring loose in transmission I know this is a common issue my question is would it cause my transmission to Overheat and lose fluid from Bell housing area The snap ring I’m talking about has the Belleville spring just behind it to my surprise there’s no damage that I can see slight wear on the coast clutch teeth from the snap ring just sitting around free inside trans everything else I have looked at seems to be in very good condition I would like not to go further into the transmission if this is the cause of the potential leak that I am having first off I thought it was just the transmission Torque converter bushing however the snaprings leads me to believe that that piston/apply piston was able to move after word and forward and possibly allowing pressurized transmission fluid to go elsewhere please comment I am desperately trying to get this truck back together
