for example , if your going to tow 5th wheels up hills and try to pass corvettes, that truck with a 3.73 rear is not your truck.
That's definitely not the plan... really looking for more of a well optioned good enough at everything truck....if that makes sense, I think this one is it, going to look/pick up in the morning

You've picked the absolute top of the line truck available in 2015, I think you'll be satisfied. The only thing it's missing is the snow plow prep, which I wouldn't want anyway. After living with a short bed for 3 years, I wish I got the long bed.

There is nothing wrong with a 3.73 gear. Do not have problems in the hills with this gear ratio. I pull my 5th wheel with no problems with a 3.73. the 6.7 is a powerhouse and workhorse...

The window sticker indicates it has 3:55 gears like any other single rear wheel 6.7. 3:73 is only available on the single rear wheel truck with the snow plow prep.

The 3:55 is plenty of gear due to the HP and torque of the 6.7. If he was towing heavy he would require the dually anyway which does have lower gear options.

I have pulled my 13,000# 5th wheel from coast to coast twice without any issues with my 3.31 rear gear. I thought that was going to be a problem. Truck pulls any hill at speed limit without any issue. I get decent fuel millage also 11 MPG's. Mine is a 15 Lariat trim. Now you can get a 11,500 GVR in a F350 SRW truck but most have the 10,000 rating. However depending on your state DMV fees will be higher on the heavier package. I wish i had the camper package but I got mine to late in the season to get that. I add my own 5th wheel hitch myself and also air bags. Put the bags on first because one of the bolts go behind the side frame plate for the hitch. You will want the air bags for towing and just cursing down the road. they act like a cushion of air when unloaded which helps damping the ride unloaded.
My truck had only 60 miles on it when I cut the 4 inch hole in the bed for the hitch. Good thing I can read a tape measure LOL. No going back from that hole.

I have a '13 platinum, I believe all the platinum's came stock with painted bumpers and a satin finish grille with the satin chrome deal on the tailgate. I love mine, buy it, you won't be sorry you did. I tow a 22' enclosed trailer with a car in it. I have to keep reminding myself that the trailer is attached.
