Well FINE! I’ll order one :-) I redid the spark plug wires, and the engine idle fine but ran like crap... looked up the firing order and whoever put on the last wire set completely did it wrong.
Well a rebuild obviously couldn’t hurt. I did notice at the bottom of the accelerator pump there is a little hole and that’s where the fuel comes out. Is that hole suppose to be plugged?
Pretty sure that hole needs to be there on the cover, both to serve as a weep hole and also to let air in behind the valve, as when the valve is depressed, it wants to create a vacuum under the cover.
The carb on my truck has a plug over that port. Several of those ports will have rubber plugs over them. I'll bet most of your plugs are either missing or cracked and dried out, letting the port leak vacuum.
Not sure if anything would plug into it.... at least it doesn't on my carb.....
Mine before clean-up.... and kit installed.....
Didn't look too bad on the outside but it did some of things you described yours doing.
Too much air getting in..... runs like crap
Not enough air getting in...... runs like crap
Not enough fuel to mix with air...... runs like crap
In other words........ CLEAN IT UP....... LOL....
Lololol I swear it said 2150... my bad. And does that eBay one have the vacuum line cover I previously asked about? I didn’t see it in the photo unless I’m legally blind
best cover for a vacuum port is a properly fitting piece of line thoroughly plugged with a screw or bolt. Looks tackier than the molded covers but I have had the covers split in as little as within 24 hours.
Well.... you might be legally blind anyway BUT......
no, those rubber caps have to be bought separately. You can get a pack of assorted sizes from the parts store in the "help" section.

Yep, Dave is right.... the rubber they send over here from china is crap.
BUT, I just had to put them on mine for the "look"..... I'll just keep an eye on 'em to crack open.
