Got my new chain and installed it. It’s definitely tighter, and it was a bit tough to jockey it into place. It’s fairly stiff compared to the old one and has probably 1/3 the slack the old one had. New chain Old chain

For sure less than I thought it would be, but super glad I did it. I don’t have a need for a blown up transfer case, and so much easier than having to take it out later and do it given all the work I’m already doing. I’ll do a full write up on the I put shaft change as well.
Just curious is there or was there any up/down movement in the rear output of your case? I have a little play in the front and a little more in the rear output. Still under 1/16” though but enough to feel and see

While the case is complete (put together)? No movement at all. I would say if there's movement there, you've got a bearing going somewhere. I'll check again tonight and let you know.
