1345 bw chain slack?

How much chain slack should be in a 1345 bw? There is no stripped or chipped teeth on the he "sprockets" or "gears" but the chain seems loose

If there ain't any rub marks on the case, and it doesn't look like there will be anytime soon (chain not dangerously close to rubbing) then I'd just call it good.

When I rebuilt my "new" manual shift BW1356 the chain wasn't even close to rubbing or jumping off the cogs so I reused it. Working great to this day.

Do the pump improvement trick while you are in there. Won't cost a thing.

That little V-shaped piece on the pump that goes against the case, you weld a rod or bolt in it so it doesn't wear prematurely and spin the pump. Do a Google search on bw1345 pump or bw1356 pump. You will find it.

Maybe it's just the 1356 that gets that way, I forget!

My case doesn't have that style of pump. I have the 1345 that was supposedly used from 1980-1988 and only transferred over to the bronco in 89 yet my 89 f250 has one.
