Correct blower motor

Purchased an 82 f100 stepwise, 300 straight six, borg warner 4 gear tranny, factory a/c.
not sure what other info would be prevalent, other than the fact that the ol girl has been molested so much I’m surprised she’s not in therapy.

so the previous owner, amongst everything else he had done, took the a/c system out to change of to the new refrigerant type but never put it in.

So im starting the a/c now but taking it one step at a time. Guy told me he had bought the wrong blower motor. The motor is in, but the connector was cut out exposing the orange wire and black wire from the blower motor. I think my manual says it’s supposed to be a green and black wire if I’m not mistaken. So I guess I kind of need help knowing what the connector in the truck looked like that plugs into the blower motor. It’s much easier doing this if I’m just swapping, but since I don’t have one to start with. I’m a little puzzled
i hope the picture help.
I live in south Florida and should have done this a month or so back

I will have to go out the to the garage to check my 81 Flare Side with factory air to see how the wiring goes.
But from what I remember the plugs kind of fall into place where they go.
That resister thing that you say has a spade broken it may not, again I have to go look at mine.

On the blower motor I don't know if you can get the wrong one?
Have you checked with 1 of the on line parts stores to see if they list different fans for AC and non-AC?
It looks like mine has been replaced as the plug has been crimped on so the fans may come with out plugs?

IIRC there is a LTGR/PURPEL & BK/YL wire that goes to that psi switch in the 2nd picture then out to the compressor.
The BK/YL then goes to the compressor
There is a GR wire that goes to a solenoid on the carb to bump the RPM up when the AC is on.

Also the AC wiring is an add on harness that connects behind the dash. No AC the fan wires get plugged together when you have AC then un-plug this wire and put the AC harness in along with a different control panel / switch.
Why do I know this you ask? This all came out of my parts truck and before I bought it they removed the control panel and cut the wires. Not having anything to go by I was able to get it figured out with help from people on here.

I know its getting warm down there just give me a little time to get out and look at mine.

Usually the fans you get at the parts stores are universal and fit many different models. So you have to load the wires into the plug and you have to check direction. It will blow air in either direction but it blows better when it turns the correct direction. To swap the direction you have two swap the wires.

In this link on page 83 you can see the wiring to the blower motor. These diagrams are for a 1981, which would be very very close to your wiring. Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning - Gary's Garagemahal (the Bullnose bible)

You can see the blower gets fed power anytime the keyswitch in on and the dash selector is on. If the motor ground is connected directly to ground the motor runs high speed, and if the ground is connected through the resistors, the speed is lower.

I made changes to my post above to show the right colors, yes I went out and checked.

Ok the fan has 2 wires going to it with a plug on each. Wire colors: O/BK & BK/O

The resistor has 2 plugs going to it. Up top 1 wire / plug that looked to be a heavy BK wire.
Next to it was, lack of a better word, a sealed/covered part that if it fell off would look like a spade broke off. It would look just like your picture.
In that same picture it looks like tha wire is off the single spade but that other wire is it connected to that first plug/wire? If so mine does not have that so cant say where it would go.
Below that 1 spade is the 3 or 4 wire plug could not tell the wire colors.
Hope that helps

Thanks guys

I’ll go out tonight after work and heck again at what I have going on under the hood. I know the previous owner cut the connector off of the blower motor, assuming to jerry rig something.
If I can find the original plug I’ll connect it and heat sheiks the wires. And yes, one of those spades is unplugged in the pic, I unplugged it from the right side spade to get a better image for the pics. And I know that o have the a/c accumulator there and what appears to be another plug that’ll go somewhere, maybe the one you mentioned about the higher rpm for a/c.
But as to not stress myself out. I’m trying to just tackle the blower motor part. And I get about the reverse polarity. And I don’t mind making a new connection. I just need to know exactly where I connect it.
I’ll read over your posts again tonight as I’m out there tinkering around.
And on top of the sweltering heat, it’s also about to hit raining season, at which point I’ll need my blower motor for defogging 😬

So it looks like the first one is the one that would fit my vehicle, the second one is the one that was in there, except he connect the end off. I’ll see about getting a couple of ends I can crimp to the wire, connect it to where ever it goes, and we should be golden.
