Certainly not fun purchasing something and having it die on you. I bought a refurb pioneer that crapped out juuuuust after the "warranty", if that's what you want to call it. No one would touch it (pioneer or best buy). So, for my money, no super cheapies, and no Pioneer units. Then again, I'm too cheap to spend real coin on a stereo...
Ive never bought a pioneer refurb, but have purchased 5 different pioneer decks over the last 15 years and never had a single problem

I have actually found 6 different ones besides the one Oscar sells on E-bay.
Change your search to "android crown victoria radio", there is the one Oscar has on Ebay, one from France, one on Amazon, and 3 (or 4, one is the same one Oscar offers on ebay, personally I would buy his as he has plug and play harnesses) on alibaba and allyexpress.
If anyone wants needs a link(s) let me know I saved them all when I was looking.
Just me but I like to keep mods down to a minimum when it involves cutting out things so it fits/works.
All of the ones I found are Android 8.1 OS systems, and so are the ones Oscar gets now. I went back and forth a bit with him myself about a month ago and he said they upgraded the HU's and he was still checking out the new features.
Bah sorry guys, work has been busy and family stuff has been crazy the last couple weeks.
The one from Oscar was already linked, his are super nice because he basically makes it plug and play on the harness for you.
And here are the other ones I found that are a stock fit, not 100% sure all the harnesses are plug and play. This is mainly do to the years listed for the Crown Victoria's the radios are for, as they changed some plugs/connectos for model years. Some have pics so you can see it is.
I spents several hours tracking these down, hope I helped save some of you that time.
I like the looks of the Amazon and French ones, but they are all basically the same on features. Some load up with the Ford logo like the one Oscar sells on E-Bay, I do think that is nice if going for a stock look.
I put a pioneer avhw4400nex (cheapest one with witless android auto and wireless Apple carplay) with backup and front camera in mine for not much more... The minor dash modification took thirty minutes, including hunting tools and plugging the stereo in/driving off listening to music and hiding the GPS and mic wires. That stereo does ALOT (CD/DVD, phone, nav, siri/assistant, HD stereo, and blah blah). I had never installed a stereo in anything before then, so anyone else could do not much quicker, probably. Post no. 1 shows the dash mod.
There are a couple of distributors, products look to be the same. It's usually found under Marine products and I had to cut out the area just leaving the four corners for screws. I liked the look and it added backlit, 2 USB charging ports to the front dash. The item is sold on eBay and Amazon, a square panel like mine, inline all items in a row and comes in RED BLUE and Green. I will probably add the inline one to the center console radio control unit (concerned Rear DVD audio wire) or to the driver rear armrest (12v cig wire located) Below is just one of the distributors, some come with pre-cut wires and connectors and some do not.
