I-pod woes.
My 2004 f-150 has a very decent factory system, has a sub which i'm happy with, has a dvd player, which I'm more than happy with, has very good power when listening to a cd and has a 6 disc player.......but it does not have another input for my I-pod. The only input the head unit has is being used for the dvd player. So by now you have probably figured out my problem, the I-pod has to use an fm modulator. Horrible sound, cant stand it. I am currently using the aux input on the dvd player, but the volume is cut by almost half.
Can anyone suggest an alternative? I have researched into brandmotion and like systems, not compatible with the system in the 04. I have looked at the HK system, but still only fm modulation available. I'm thinking a couple different things. I have a 6 year old amp brand new in the box, (Lanzar opti 1604) which is supposed to be a pretty decent amp and bridgeable to 5 channels. Or I guess i can change the head unit to something that is I-pod compatible, but lose the dvd played all together.
Any other suggestions that are feasible? And if the amplifier would be the way to go, is it a tough install to add it to a factory system?
Thanx all in advance.
