I found out that the CD changer on my radio is screwed up and two different places have told me that the changer neeeds to be replaced and will cost around $250..I am open to replacing it with an aftermaket unit if neccessary, but would like a stock one..I went on Ebay and they have several that look the same, but are for different models of Fords.. Which ones can I use in the Excursion???
If anyone on here has one for sale let me know also...
What is weird is that I finally figgered out that you have to pull the keys to the side to pull it out and after getting it out,I unplugged it and after looking at it,plugged it back together and put it back in the dash and now the radio sounds better than it ever did...
When I had to replace my head unit I went with a Alpine CDA-9885 with iPod capability. It sounds a ton better then stock and the best part if you have a iPod you never have to have a book of cds in your truck anymore. I think it was about $369.00 and took about 20 minutes to install, the iPod is in the glove box and you work it from the head unit.
