Apparently the larger the pipe that is sticking out the back the cooler you are. At least that is my observation of other trucks running around town. And you get bonus points for dual 6" stacks in the bed!
Those are funny as hell.... no coal from my truck and I agree that its dumb to roll coal . I was just trying to figure out what way would help out and nice tone . I no it's a diesel, hell I drive one for work .
Zero performance benefit for your power levels. A 5” with no muffler will sound better in my opinion. The reason I run a 5” exhaust is for the proportional look of the raw 5” pipe with the size of the truck. I don’t like a chrome tip sticking out that you are able to visually “see” the increase in diameter whether it be 4 to 5”, 5 to 6”, or the awful 7” and larger tip trends. Garbage.

Zero performance difference. Maybe a slight difference in tone, but definitely not noticeable for restriction. I'm not sure anyone has done an actual study on the 6.7's yet, but I do recall on the 7.3, until you were hitting 650+ horsepower, there was no difference in flow. And THAT was a pretty small club of guys pushing those numbers outta the 7.3!
I can't stand owners who fill intersections full of soot. There is no reason for that. Now no one can see and it adds to "diesels are evil."
I took this several years ago. This has got to add 30 HP.
That Dodge looks ridiculous but for sure adds power*. My dad drove truck and I used to go with him. Convoy was my favorite movie as I young kid. And Puppy dogs (Macks) were my favorite tractors because that's what "Juice," my dad, drove.
Now with all this being said, I'm a huge fan of stacks...on 18 wheelers. I saw a sticker online that said,
"SMOKE STACKS ARE FOR SEMIS DUMBA**"
I may have to ask my friend who owns a sign shop make me one up for the rear window.
And if they are "rolling coal," they might as well be throwing dollar bills out their window as all that smoke is just unburned fuel. It gives all of us diesel owners a bad image on the public roadways.

But to thee point of this thread, if you were building a full on puller or strip truck, The 5" would benefit the engine to push out the exhaust quicker in a high horsepower application. Like the guys smarter than myself above stated, zero performance gain. But coolness gain, at least +25 points. A bigger pipe just looks cooler, I agree.
