Choke line missing

Getting ready to install the older YF model carburettor on my 86 F1 50 that had a YF a. None of the electrics worked any more so make sense to go to an older model carb. Looking at the old carburettor it has the line connected to the choke but it isn’t connected on the other end. Does anybody know where this line is supposed to run to and how I can run a new line so the new choke on the new cover it I will actually work as opposed to the old one which was just always open. Which made cold starts and possible without either

Have been looking on the site and it’s the hot air tube that isn’t running anywhere

It runs to the exhaust manifold.
There should be another line out the bottom that runs up the the inlet of the carb.
Do a search for hot air choke or something like that as this has been posted a time or 2.
I know I posted pictures but my site is down but it should help.

Hot Air Choke

If you look at both the 86 carb and the older carb, you will see the "Hot Air Choke" inlet is on different sides.

Here are some links to threads with info

1: post 28 has good info but the photo is a V8, post 37 has more links to photos of your engine.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...rts-etc-3.html

If you take the time to look through all the posts and links you will get a clear picture of how this works.

Good luck
Jim

You can run new tubing with one of these:

https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-649-03840.aspx

or, you can convert to manual choke using one of these:

https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-26320-55101.aspx

Either of these can be found at most automotive parts stores or online.
