New Carburator Help

Ok I Just Got A New Carb For My F-150 351w 1985 And It Will Not Match Up I Am Going To Get A Diffrent Carb Or An Adaptor Plate But I Have A Question On My Intake It Is A Four Barrel Set Up With The Four Circles In The Middle But On The Side There Is A Long Slinder Square Port Where Exuast Comes Out. I Am Wanting To Know What It Is And Can I Block It Off If I Wanted To?

you should be able to block it, as long as you bought a carb with a electric choke. If you carb doesn't have an electric choke it will just run ruff until it warms up. They also make hot air chokes, that you have to run a hard line from exhaust to carb to epand a small coil that controls startup idle.

Oh, the port is for carbs with hot air chokes, but don't use a hard line. Basicly, they just roughted the exhaust through intake vs. using a bulky exterior line to control the choke.

hope this helps, any other questions just list what type of carb you bought.

Electric choke:
To the stator terminal of the alternator

That slender valley in the intake is for the EGR systems.

Exhaust Gases Re-circulation.

Sometimes they burn holes and leak but you don't need it if the EGR spacer is already gone.
