Chassis part, what is it?
So, I looked at different schematics, diagrams and pics and don't have any idea of what this thing is or purpose. Please someone help.

Wth is this and need?

but seriously, it is a vibration dampener, of of many little changes Ford did to try and hide the fact that the Ex is build on a 1 ton truck platform.

So really, unnecessary? I feel that it's just another thing to get stuck on whole wheeling. Any opinions?

I was thinking the same thing....looks like it would easily get wrecked hitting stuff.
