Hard steering-won’t return to center

Just picked up my 2019 F-250 CCLB and it is beautiful. However, having come from a Duramax, the Ford definitely drives a little different down the road. I am noticing a few possible issues that I need to bounce off of a few folks here.

Having left the dealership a few hours ago and while driving home, I am noticing that the steering is a little tight. When I turn a corner, the wheel is not returning to center like I would expect. It does take more effort that I am use to to get it going straight again. Taking a few back country highways home, I am also noticing a little bump steer. Is this something that will loosen over time or am I looking at already taking it in for work with a whopping 63 miles on it?

Is this your first solid front axle? They handle quite a bit differently than IFS.

Give it 500 miles. Seriously.

Heres my thread the day after I brought my truck home (same topic). It loosened up and I loosened up real fast.

ive got a torsion bar ifs truck, a coil over spring ifs truck and a beam axle truck. i dont notice and difference. either they drive good or they dont. your bumpsteer would have me worried unless its extremely minor but if it was that minor i suspect you wouldnt have mentioned it

Maybe have the dealer let you test drive a similar truck and see if the steering feels any different

Mine was similar when I first picked it up. It does loosen up over time and acts normal after 1k miles or so. Just about 7500mi on mine now and the steering is just about what you'd expect out of any other vehicle...

I appreciate the responses. This is not my first Ford solid front axle but it has been quite a while since owning or driving one (2006). So far I am loving the Ford again but I guess I will give it awhile to see if she loosens up. Thanks fellas

Ford doesn't know what caster is, have the alignment checked. A little bump-steer is unavoidable with an SFA. To be totally honest, I don't think the Super Duty's handle bad, it's just the GM HD's handle very good for a large pickup.
