I forgot to mention Lifters. They could have metal in them also. I'm assuming they're hydraulic, and not solid. You can disassemble the lifters and clean them. It'll be tedious doing all 16, but worth the effort. If they were hydraulic flat tappets I'd just replace them, but hydraulic roller lifters are expensive
