Windshield Replacement

Having the windshield replaced today, rock hit it with less than 400 miles on the truck!

Anyway, I have Auto Highbeams and Rain sensor... No lane keep asist on the truck. Do I need to get anything Recalibrated for this or is it just for lane keep assist?

Thanks in Advance!

Nope. All will be good with just a glass replacement. Unless the dealership didn’t charge me for recalibration, which I doubt.

Like you I had a Rock chip in the first 2 months of owning the truck. I had my windshield guy replace the glass and everything has worked just fine after. And I do have the Lane Keep. ACC, Rain sensing etc, etc.

I got mine done through insurance as I am in Florida. The receipt Safelite gave me for FORD glass was 272.00 That said, i think it works a lot like Medical insurance because the "List Price" of the glass was

Glass $ 668.15
labor $ 112.15
Install kit of $ 11.29
Tax $ 55.41
Grand totoal "CASH Price" of $ 847.00

Insurance company was charged

Glass $ 142.06
Labor $ 112.15
Tax $ 17.79

Total Price $ 272.00

If you can, it looks like insurance (at least here in florida) is the better way to go). I had 0 deductible for glass in florida also.

Crazy high. I have the Lariat Ultimate with rain sensing, auto high beams, and lane keeping assist. I had my windshield replaced last month for $250 no insurance involved.

FWIW I replaced my wifes windshield on her explorer ("soundproof", rain sensor, lase assist) everything worked fine after the install

had 3 options

insurance $500 deductible

Ford glass $652 mobile installation

aftermarket $352 mobile installation

I looked at both and went with the aftermarket, it was exactly the same except for the ford logo at the bottom center.

I didn't quote the windshield for my truck but if I would ever need it (knock on wood) id go with the aftermarket again I was pleased with it
this was in Houston tx

Make sure the gel pad for the rain sensor is replaced.
Safelite forgot this on mine.
Insurance covered my windshield 100% and used Ford glass.

In fact, I have to get my 2nd one next Friday. Ugh.

My truck is teasing you in the background over to the right

Don’t mind the part that’s scratched out it has my address on it that’s why.. other than that I liked the quality of work. They came to my house and installed it

LOL. The "Ford" glass you got is prolly Libby Owens Ford. Glass manufacturer. Prolly says LOF in the corner rather than a blue oval.
I specified FORD glass at a shop one time- expecting factory glass, eyebrow tint, etc... "We ONLY use Ford glass.."
