No sweat I know what you mean, I can picture it.
I think I'll send mine out the back, its kind of "old truckish".
I also know what you mean about Jersey, both my parents are from there and we would head down to Closter or Red Bank multiple times a year from CT. Lots of hot summers in Asbury Park.
I know it's a four-letter-word here but I went with the dual exhaust glasspack system from LMC. It's working well for me, went on well, and sounds pretty good. Here's a quick video of that work from my YT channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsOiK9gxicw
Damn man. Is that a frame up restoration? I can lick the underside. I would like to see more pictures especially the wooden bed...
I've got some videos up about it, but it's just plywood now. Will be adding the oak soon and probably a vid or two detailing the measurements, materials, and considerations of that work.
Yeah, it was basically a frame-up restoration on it. Took five years total - three years of it fairly leisurely with some life interruptions and 18 months of concerted effort to get it done. We did it all (my FIL and I) excepting the tranny rebuild. Just cleared a spot in the garage today - already tired of making it sleep outside so that's where the minivan has to life from now on
66with352, So i got the pipes and I realized that if i'm not mistaken you have an F-100 with a rear transmission mount right?, My bellhousing crossmember is right there so I had to do some further mods, it runs close to the frame but not as close as it looks here although it will mess with my battery cables when I move the battery back under the floor. The mods were I added 6" to the right side, had an 18" cheater pipe that I cut 4 1/8" off to add to the crosspipe and then cut the remainder with the flared end down to about 7" to extend the lower "y", it was pretty slick (pun intended) but took a little while to figure out.
I am going to use that used muffler which really isn't that bad and the ratty tailpipe to start and see how it is before I spend anything on something new

You can wrap the exhaust pipe with header wrap and use cable heat sleeves for the battery cables. That's what I did on my crawler. It survived many snow runs and mud baths through the years. Worked great. Planning on doing that to mine when I'm ready. Just throwing the idea out there. Looks good.
