In February I was getting some no starts after driving 30 minutes, killing the motor for an hour and then go out and NO Start. After about three times I changed out the CPS to a Motorcraft black one.Up until yesterday morning I have had 0 no starts and all has been fine.Yesterday morning I drive 30 minutes, kill the truck,go back out in about an hour No start. After cycling several times and trying to start it 3 times it fires up just like normal on about the 4th time.I drive on to work.Fires right up after work and the next several times on my way home after stopping and starting up again.
This morning it fires up fine on first start.Drive 30 minutes, kill the truck, come back out in an hour,NO start.....Try starting it 4 times,No start.I get out and unplug the CPS and check the wires,I do not see nothing out of the ordinary??Plug it back in,get back in the truck and it fires right up.....This is after about 15 minutes of frustration.
Oil level/age is fine. All gauges come on just as always.Batteries good...All sounds are the same for pre start.
Many Thanks for your help!
Look at the ignition. My dad was having similar issues with his Ex. He replaced the ignition cylinder and so far no issues. Could be same or could be worse.......electrical gremlin!
Layed me smoooooth down this morning after starting and running fine 2 times within an hour. The third time I go out to start it it and will not start for sh>>>>>>T.
I put another new CPS on it just to see but that did not work.Started looking at the ICP and IPR numbers on my Aeroforce gauge.
When cranking the ICP would not get over 249....The ICP DC% was 64.7.
I am not the smartest here on these numbers by no means so I am relying on ya'll??
Installing a new ICP sensor I had DID NOT make it start.
+1 on checking the IPR. The wiring maybe going bad on it as well. I would ohm out the IPR pigtail especially if the the tin nut is on the back and is nice and snug.
Tin nut is in tacked and tight.Oil level and life is good.Wiring showed to be good by the eye but did not get a chance to ohm it yet.
What should the ohms be and is that with the key on?
I will get another IPR headed my way JIC.Probably time.
