Thought about a joke Bill, but I just posted a Quarterly Chat thread instead of Monthly.

If suddenly there are shocked and appalled members, we'll go back to the old school monthly.

In the meantime, I'm contemplating my next task here at FTE.

I know less than zero about horse racing. How does one know less than zero? That's when some of the things you think you know just aren't true.

Two things I do know is that horse racing has a centuries old history and tradition, and that PETA would love to shut it down. Both of which put me solidly on the side of horse racing continuing to be a solid part of American culture.

So are there any horse racing fans here? What's going on with Santa Anita? How can a track like Santa Anita experience so many tragic incidents in such a short period of time? Is it something with the track itself? Too much rain? Something the local owners are doing, or not doing? Drugs? Or maybe this isn't unusual at all and the press has just picked up on it?

I don't know enough to even form an opinion about any of those things, but I'm hoping to hear all opinions.

For as much local action as we are seeing here in SoCal, I think a quarterly thread will do just fine!

The Midwest has sure had its share of bad weather this spring! The farm in upstate MN just got about a foot of new snow, but that's nothing compared to the flooding in northeast Nebraska.

We lucked out Pop, just got a little freezing rain and tiny hail.

Perhaps I’m too early for my transplants?

Bill, I’m no help, all I know about horse racing I learned from Richard Dreyfuss.

Yeah, they'd be safer if they were either in Pomona or SLO. It's a bad area around SC nowadays!

Heck, I wouldn't go down there with my ol' "Beater Car".

Safety First!

Oh yea! I wonder how long he can go. He got burned on a couple doubles that I've seen--seems to slow him down on his larger bets. But his system works.

Tearing out my back lawn--most of it anyway. We had quotes to do the work but they were too high.

More later in case anyone is having trouble getting to sleep.

Sounds like you’re getting a workout!

Is it true Alex cringes when players start with the bottom of the board?

I read some clickbait a while back, long prior to this fellow, that Alex doesn't like it. If you start at the top, you get supposedly clues to the lower and supposedly harder questions.

From what I see, you either know the category or you don't. Guessing is a quick way to 3rd place.
