Alex hates it when they go all over the board because he has to locate the question on his master sheet in front of him. It’s a pita.
This guy is pretty amazing, he goes for a while.
I was thinking he was changing the way the game was played, but from what I know that y’all don’t ...... not so much.
Can tell you one thing though. There were plenty of higher ups coming in to check him out.
BTW just to catch you guys up on the Hunter household since I haven’t been around that much, I sold my ‘08 F350 and got mommy a Lincoln MKX. Damn nice little car for her.
We were just killing the truck using it as an around town vehicle. It was giving me warning signs and I was finding myself in the driveway more and more under it. I enjoy working on my old stuff but not fixing broken junk on new stuff. So off it went.

Not a bad move most likely. The city is not the natural habitat for a diesel. And the newer they are the worse it gets. I struggle with this too, but we actually need the truck to pull the fifth wheel. It just sits so much, and I have to make a point of driving it once a week to keep the batteries safe. Last time I bought diesel fuel was in November. Luckily it doesn't go bad.
Doesn't matter how much that guy wins on Jeopardy. The rating rise has to have made it worth it. The underwriter will just raise the rates a bit.
Yeah if I had a trailer to pull it would make sense.
Kinda felt like I was slowly killing it. All the “clean stuff” the gov mandates for the engines is just to much.
I hear you guys. Just recently sold our 5th wheel and am considering a smaller class C. My wife wouldn't drive the truck and trailer and didn't want to get the necessary non commercial class A license.
So now my 6.0 sits most of the time. Same as Bill, keep a charge on the new batteries, running it every week of so.
i've kept my 87 740 turbo Volvo, now with 481,000 miles for running around town. It runs great, knock on wood, doesn't burn any oil and I keep it well maintained. Wax it regularly with the original paint job and occasionally get a honk or two with a thumbs up for it looking "kinda new."
My truck as a crew cab, longbed, just makes it difficult to maneuver these smaller and smaller parking spot sizes.
I can't imagine selling my truck but really wonder if I need another engine to maintain with a class C.
Maybe a smalller 5th wheel in our future?
In the meantime, several trips with a Cruise America 29'er has allowed us, our annual Jan beach trip and Nascar in March.
Lots to consider when retirement age helps to make decisions for both of us.
( Been a while since posting and looks like I need to change my sig.)
I feel very fortunate to have bought my 2000 7.3, way back in 2003. I have told Marge to use it as my coffin, and I have two friends with backhoes and property that keep affirming they'll assist her in doing so. Of course, it's all in fun, but I intend to drive mine until I can't drive at all.
It's starting to look its age, but I'll be spending some re-hab money on it this summer. Things like new seat leathers, a wood-grain steering wheel, and have a good scratch and dent guy go over it thoroughly. I kinda' wish it had front-end coils instead of the leaf springs to reduce the turning radius and make it easier in parking lots, but that's a small price to pay that I've learned to live with.
I've got a pesky oil drip that I need to find, too, but over-all, it still runs like the day I got it.
I agree with you Pop on your 7.3. I would keep it also.
I don’t mind saying I was scared of the longevity of the 6.4.
If I had a good ole 7.3 I would’ve kept it.
The 6.4's cheapness was the reason FoMoCo decided to finally roll their own.
Navistar cut way too many corners for it to be a long-lasting, dependable source of power, and Ford realized they were losing the reliability game by continuing to use outsourced diesel engines.
Good call on ditching the 6.4. It's been described as a "throw-away", 100,000 mile engine.
Interested to see the next GOT tonight. Not many of them left. We’ll cancel HBO when it’s done. I wonder how many others do the same?
The semester is coming to an end this week, looking fwd to a summer off.
Master plan is to paint the exterior of the house before the summer heat hits. It has cedar siding and needs a wash, many cracks, knots sealed, then a good coat of paint. Got quoted $7,400, which seemed like west coast pricing.
