Broken mirror?
While towing today, I noticed that my view in the driver's mirror kept changing!
Then, I realized that the mirror was folding in on itself as I drove. I could open the window and push it back out into position, but it wasn't long before if would fold up on me again.
Can this be repaired, or am I looking at a total replacement?

The gears are most likely stripped. Gruven Parts makes a brass set to replace the plastic stock ones.

OK...looking at Amazon and came up with these:
I really don't care if they fold manually....as this is obviously a weak-link in their design...but they are telescopic and less than $200 for the pair!
Maybe once I have these installed, I can try taking the OEM apart....but it doesn't look like something I'd try without a backup plan.
