Last year i imported a rust free 70 F-100 from California. A very good truck, almost no issues at all. Except the neutral safety switch.
I bought a new one thinking that would fix it. Not. It seems like there is a pin or something sticking up from the steering column to actuate the safety switch. Mine is missing.
Is it a piece that can be b ought or do i have to make something? A picture would be great.

Attaches to shift tube thru hole in steering column shroud, knife blade end fits into NSS

If NO is Norway, Green Sales ships across the pond via Fed Ex. Carpenter probably ships to Europe also.
GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 10 = 513-731-3304. If ordering from greensalescompany.com, type the number like this: DOTZ7B097B = no spaces or hyphens.
CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 418 = 704-786-8139.
That switch is eliminated with a stick shift truck. There is a plug with 4 pins(2 for back up lights, 2 for NSS). Just make a jumper and plug it in the 2 for NSS.
Some don't think it's safe, but it's up to you.
I had difficulties related with the Neutral Safety Switch on my '68 F250 as well, I would have to fiddle around with the selector lever to make it start, and the backup lights would not properly stay on in reverse.
Before ordering a new NSS I took it off the steering column and disassembled it, there are 2 small metal bullets pushed by small springs to make contact to the metal pieces the switch travels as you select gears.
I cleaned everything from dirt and reassembled it, this is a bit tricky as you need to make sure neither the small bullets and springs nor the large spring that pushes against the lever will jump away from your table.
Unfortunately I did not take any pictures, but if you open the NSS you will see what I am talking about.
Put the NSS back onto the column and everything works fine by now.
I know this is not as perfect as ordering a new NSS, but good enough for a quick workaround.
Just squirting them out with contact cleaner, can usually clean out the corrosion which has built up over fifty years. When you get it clean shoot in a bit of dielectric grease, and cycle the switch a few times.
