The exhaust smells funny
I switched from diesel to gas and I am very happy with performance. However, my exhaust smells funny to me, almost like a sweet smell. Have all kinds of equipment and cars that run on gas but none smell this way. I tow heavy and it is my work truck so I am getting the mileage I was expecting but just wondering if the exhaust is common not to smell.... well, like normal? Weird question I know. lol Only 7k on the truck so far and I am always hooking up trailers which is why I noticed the exhaust difference.

Do they sell Winter Blend Gas in Florida?
I notice a small difference in exhaust odor between Summer Blend and Winter Blend fuel. Winter Blend has a higher volatile content (RVP) to help the engine start easier and run smoothly at cold temperatures. To me, the truck's exhaust has a somewhat sweeter, tiny bit of alcohol-like smell on Winter Blend gas. I can tell when they've switched over from Winter to Summer blend in my area because the exhaust odor changes...

I highly doubt they have winter blends down here anywhere and for sure not in south FL, just never gets cold enough. I have a dump trailer that I operate next to the tailgate and exhaust so I get a whiff of it. I pay no mind to it anymore as the truck runs great and I see no problems. For awhile I was trying to figure out how I could go into a dealership and ask if I could sniff exhaust pipes...… didn't think that would go over to well. LOL.

Do any of your other vehicles also have a 6.2? Combustion characteristics and the catalyst material make the 6.2 unique in terms of smell. Same goes for the new F150 trucks, the exhaust smell is unique. Its especially noticeable when you work with a fleet of these every day.
