A big Question

I pulled the engine out to replace the trans, put everything back. When I connected the battery it popped and smoked around the throttle body, I think its the tp sensor that went out. The engine has fuel, fire and won't run?

put a code scanner on it or do the paper clip trick. that should tell you what burnt up I would think.

Physically LOOK at the TPS and all the other electrical in that area and find out where you let the smoke out.

Why would you pull the motor in order to replace the trans?
