Trans - O/D lite

This is driving me crazy (er).On the 94 350, Trans acts like a sesor is caput. But in the last 6 months have replaced rear end sensor, tack sensor and adj the pump lever. Now the o/d lite flashes, pull the battery cables to reset and every thing is fine for 20 - 30 miles then the o/d lite flashes and the hard shifts start. Remove cables, does the same thing. Cleaned the connector on the trans, everything was good for 20 - 30 miles back to square one. The trans now runs about 15 deg hotter. Since the tack sensor replacement the truck is idling @ 750 not the 500 before replacing. Any direction to trouble shoot would be appreciated

Sounds like it might be time to get a computer code scan done to see what the computer thinks the problem is.

It seems you have done and replaced all the usual sensors that usually go bad. The problem might be internal and a code scan "may" shed some light on the situation. The temperature is a concern.

What does the tranny oil look and smell like. If it smells burn or looks anything other than red it may be time to have a tranny shop take a closer look.

I second the scan for a code, mine also flashes and I have done the FIPL, talking to a Ford master tech friend he stated it could be the MLPS.......meaning trans is in a cetain gear but the info sent to PCM states its in another position.........

Not to worried about the temp, I normally run 160 empty 180 or so when towing. the fluid is not burnt, but I guess it is stealership time to get the codes read. Will post results.
