06 XLT Escape. Was adjusting Passenger side headlight up, & had it almost where it needed to be, and the assembly dropped off the adjusting screw inside the housing. Is there a way to get at it to reattach it? or have I ruined a fairly new headlight assy???
Yep. I ruined a brand new headlight. There's no way inside the 'bubble' without destroying it.

To be honest you should remove the headlight assembly, something is not quite right if the adjuster needs winding so far and is still only “nearly there”.
If you are replacing the light due to impact damage then you may have some distortion to the metalwork that you havent noticed that will need correcting before the light will fit and adjust correctly...
Don't feel alone, We replaced both headlight assembly and 1 would not adjust. Got a replacement that would not adjust and the 3rd headlight assembly would adjust. So after pulling the bumper cover off for the 3rd time it was done.
