im getting this code back i changed egr soleniod then iac valve then cleaned the dpfe senor then put and new gasket behind the egr valve and replaced most of the vacum hose and this code will not go away so now what to i dont wanna keep throwing parts at it although i feel what i have done have done so far was a good idea cause the truck runs/idols much better but that
thanks for your reply here the p1409 just say circiut malfunction after reading about the p1409 and related issues it seemed like changing the solinod was best place to start so i did with little change then i cleaned the dpfe sensor still no change it got better after i changed most of the vacum lines but the lihgt still wont go out should i change the dpfe sensor i also read the egr valvues themselves dont go bad but these sensors do
would you happen to know what the output on the dpfe sensor should be when i test it with the voltage meter
I haven't worked on a EGR system since my '97 Ranger but as I recall you'll need a hand vacuum pump as well. You should have a AllDataDIY account for info such as how much applied vacuum equals how much voltage specs and other general info. IIRC, the input is 5V but output varies with vacuum.
could my egr valve be sticking and if so should clean it or replace i read online that those dont go bad and if cleaning it how in the world do i get off that sucker is really on there a way to clean it while its still on the truck once you dismount it fron the intake it does kinda sway back out of the way

You seem to be stuck on this being a EGR valve problem when the DTC is for a EGR circuit problem.
Had same code found broken purple wire right at the egr solenoid connector. The pin on the pcm is number 47 if you need to trace it or by pass the wire altogether.

Gary was spot on with this answer so if anyone is searching for this code and looking for a fix do not overlook the wiring right at the connector. On mine the engine wiring harness support where it mounts to the solenoid had broken and the harness dropped creating tension on the EGR connector eventually breaking the wire inside of the insulation. I could not see it just looking at it quickly. You can see it once you start moving the wire right at the connector the insulation is very weak and looks gives easily as the wire inside was broke.
These connectors are available for replacement as the wire was broke right at the connector.
Reprogram ??? I have done this battery disconnect on my 2015 Superduty a few times now and no problems.. Ford dealer told me to do it when I was getting error messages concerning my gas cap.. Disconnecting the negative side of the battery fixed it.. What happens when you change out your battery.. you have reprogram the computer..? I think not !
