I seem to remember 1or2 bolts that were shorter in a certain place when I put a deep aluminum pan on. Not using them would cause damage of some sort. Check into it, would hate to see you cause a problem over something so simple. I'll see if I still have the install instructions and take a look.
couldn't find the install instructions so went to the mag hytec sight and found them. The 2 front bolts are the issue, but may not matter in your case as you are going back to oem.
Yeah i have the mag hytec pan now tired of buying all that extra oil when I feel its not needed when i toasted my tranny 15yrs ago I got it and a 6.0 cooler im thinking the 6.0 cooler is good enough for the job of keeping things cool.
Yes it is. I have one also. Had to add a thermostat or it was too cool. But to the OP, I just don't remember if bolts came with the deep pan or what. Just be careful. Maybe another member actually knows if the stock bolts are all the same.

I added the biggest 6.0 AT cooler I could find and external filter to my E99 about 8 years ago and am curious how did you figure out yours was too cool?
Was it causing shifting problems during winter?
I have not noticed any problems but the coldest around here has been about 18 - 20F since the install.
I have trans temp gauge. Trans needs to get up to 170-180 deg. to be its most efficient and get any moisture out. Search this forum, tons of info on this topic.
Well while we are talking about tranny pans. Have any of you tried the pan and filter off of the 2008-2010 5R110? I see the 6.0 guys are putting on their transmission. It looks to be a little bigger pan and a true filter. I haven’t done it, but wanted the forums opinion.
Anyone tried the 6.4l setup on our trucks? Apparently my old man threw my stock transmission pan away guess it sat in his shed too long so i need to get a new one.
The question isn't whether or not the pan fits. The real question is whether or not the 2008 5R110W internal pan filter snorkel will align with the internal filter port in the 4R100... while at the same time nesting in the filter well of the 2008 pan.
It is one thing going from one 5R110W (for the 6.0L) to another 5R110W (for the 6.4L). It could be, but might not necessarily be, a different thing altogether when leaving the 5R110W domain and stepping back into the 4R100/E40D.
The commonality of the pan bolt pattern isn't the concern. The far more important issue is making sure that the pan filter is adequately supported and doesn't dislodge or drop out of the valve body from the weight and saturation of fluid, and that the snorkel aligns correctly with the port, and doesn't shift cockeyed once the pan is fitted in place.
Mark Kowalsky (sp) , a former transmission engineer from Ford who worked on the development testing for the 5R110W, was asked, and answered, the question pertaining to the 6.4L pan and pan filter fitting and working with the 4R100. His answer was that he didn't know, and he implied that there could be some risk in finding out. I wasn't willing to take that risk, but certainly wouldn't object if you took the risk and reported back your findings.
Well considering i have already had one transmission replacement Dont want to be the Guinea pig guess i will try to find a stock 4r100 pan at a decent price.
