The front of my hood is always sticking up about an inch and a half. You can push it down level, but it pops back up. Everything else is nicely aligned.
So, today I took out the spring at the front that keeps the hood from slamming down (the one opposite the latch that sits near the top of the radiator) and bam! Everything lines up perfectly.
Has anyone run into this? It looks like the correct spring. I am fine leaving it out and being careful when I close the hood, just wondering why this might have gotten out of line.
Wondering if you could move the latch mechanism up a little? Sounds the the spring could be mashed down and not allowing the latch to grip the little U bolt looking piece on the hood? Then when you remove the spring it allows the hood to seat firmly in the latch like it should. I'd try moving the latch mechanism up if you have any adjustment left before leaving the spring out. Just my .02
Well Mike I've just learned that trial and error is the best source of learning sometimes lol! Glad you got it figured out though, best of luck with your progress!
