86 tford truck lug nut torque setting

I know it i an old thread but I found nobody posting the Ford shop manual specs. The 86 Ford Truck Shop manual for body chasis and electrical call for dry threads and 100 ft lbs torque.

That is something I will never agree with. Using no lubrication on lug studs. I do not care if they are Ford and have 20 years of engineering degrees.

The proper thread condition is rust free. Not lubricated. But rust free does imply a micro thin coating. Wipe em clean and torque em down. If you're me, you're checking the torque every 100 miles or so till they are set. Usually two checks and you're good to go. Steel wheels roll so sweet when they are properly torqued in a star pattern. I swap out mine with winter rims and tires so torquing up twice every year.
