Lug Nut Torque?
torque rating, It is basically a torque wrench but it goes on your breaker bar as an extension to your socket and it is a lot cheaper than big torque wrench that reads up that high!! The torque wrench we were using for the trucks was $600.00 and it went
to 600ftlbs. The torque stick is less then a $100.00 If I remember right.
They say gauranteed accurate within 4% or whatever with a air impact but we use
to hire a owner operater he had the 475 ftlb one and he used it with a breaker bar
and it was accurate I compared it to our big snap on torque wrench and it was right
there. I guess they are a lot cheaper than I thought if you just buy them single but
it still isn't a bad price for the multiple kit compared to some torque wrenches out there
I said 250 guessing better to go over if he was going to torque it by hand I just
wanted to make sure he went for a bit more torque than a normal truck would take.
If it has those workhorse axles they have a crazy high torque rating so make sure you
find out exactly what you have on that truck, I don't know what those workhorse
came on but they are 475 ftlbs , the mechanics buddy used to come and use our torque wrench on his rv to torque them he left it set (which is a bad bad thing to do to a spring torque wrench!!) to 475 ftlbs I asked him if his buddy
like to see his lug nuts fly off going down the road and he said that's what those type
called for, That's more than my MACK dump truck takes!!
