bilstein ride quality

i just got my f150 back from Ford and they installed a bilstein 5100 leveling kit in the front. it was set at 2.25" of lift. I am running brand new 20x10 fuel mavericks on 33" nitto ridge grappler. immediately I noticed how horrible the ride quality is. you hit a little tiny bump and you just sit there and bounce. wondering if anyone else had this problem and what was the solution. thanks

you better go back to FORD and have them drive it and look it over... Bilstein should NOT do anything like that.

the manager drove in the parking lot and he said "it rides stiff but that's what you wanted" no that's not what I wanted. it took them 2 days to install the front adjustable struts. it is set on the highest setting so if I drop it down an inch will the ride quality change? I'm calling bilstein first thing in the morning to see what is going on. thanks

When I put Bilstein 5100s on the back of my 2009 F150, the ride was way stiffer. I liked the stock shock ride MUCH better. Actually, 120,000 miles later, I still have them on the back of my truck. Maybe I'll finally replace them with something softer, maybe the RS9000XLs like the ones that I have on my F450.

The Bilstein's will be quite stiff when pre-loaded to +2.25". The better route for that much level is to use a 1.5" leveling spacer and run them in notch #2 (.75").
