Well first off the truck is never going to ride like a Cadillac. With that said, Bilstein has the valving down to a science. I wouldn't call them the best because I am not expert but they do make a nice replacement alternative. IMO Rancho and all the other big names are satisfactory but I personally am partial to Bilstein

I just recently upgraded to Rancho RS900XLs on my F150 and love them. Took them on a 1200 mile round trip to the Black Hills. The ability to change the settings on them is great. On the drive there I set them to about 6, and it provides a good comfortable ride on the highway. Before going through the twisties of the hills, I turned them up to 9 and they really helped control body roll. I am very impressed. The return trip we took the sceneic route and got on some pretty rough roads through the Nebraska Sandhills and these shocks were up to the task of controlling the ride. As was stated above, it doesn't ride like a Caddy, but sure is an improvement over stock.

2014 FX4 ride
Upgraded from a 2002 FX4. This 2014 FX4 with spring code UUGG jiggles like crazy on our crappy patchwork Spokane roads.
Do I honestly have to now buy shock upgrades after buying a $50k rig? Come on Ford!

I have an FX4 and I'll say you probably shouldn't have bought an FX4 because of the suspension that comes with one. It's softer to perform better off road, but it will feel pretty soft on the road. I just slow down a bit more in the corners.
