I believe the bottles of T6 CK4 I saw at Wally World had the Ford spec on them. I'll have to take a pic and post it up if someone doesn't beat me to it.
Right. Fresh stuff with the Ford spec is OK. But we're talking about a "stockpile" of T6 the OP has that may or may not be the fresh stuff.
Hi and thanks for the welcome..This KR (Tugger) is one comfortable brute..can't wait to pull the RV
My T6 supply was purchased within the past year and it has API Service CK4 in the circle but also has CJ4 in the writeups on label but not WSS-M2C171-F1.
It lists a bunch of performance requirements that it meets but Ford is not mentioned.
I thought after the Shell tech put my mind at ease I would be ok but I just might be outta luck??
Can someone show a pic of T6 with WSS-M2C171-F1 on it? Cheers.

The T6 I buy at Walmart does not have the Ford spec on the bottle. The Rotella multi vehicle that has CK4/SN is not approved, the T6 with only CK4 on the label is.
Pretty sure that any diesel oil, synthetic or dino, you buy now will me the CK4 spec.
some of do have a stock pile of CJ4 oil we bought even well before the CK4 spec was announced.
Many CK4 oils are not approved by Ford for use in our engines. For example, many CK4 oils that are also SN have less than 800 ppm P because they are designed for gas engines and are not approved by Ford for our diesel engines. One should rely on the latest Ford approval list - not just look for CK4.

All T6 5w40 bottled after June 2017 has more than 1000 ppm P and is fine to use in our 6.7 engines. Don't worry about what the bottle says for those you already have (e.g., Shell put low P non-approved CK4 in its CJ4 bottles from August 2016 to December 2016).
What you want to avoid if possible (one or two OCIs on this would not be a concern) is long term use of T6 5w40 that was bottled between August 2016 and June 2017 - if your bottles are from this period just throw a small splash of Redline zddp additive in with it and you will be good to go.
yes. Batch information and date are printed on bottle. For RT6, check bottom of bottle first. Its printed in black on dark blue, so look closely.
Perfect...didn't think of that. Now I see my jugs are from March 2018 so I am good to go even without the Ford designation on the label. They probably had a surplus of labels to use up before adding the Ford criteria.
