Defrost question

My compressor seized and I have not got around to replacing it yet .. so I'm just not running the AC.

Can I still run the defrost with heat? Seems like I remember that the defrost uses the AC to get rid of the moisture, but if so wouldn't that run the compressor?

Disconnect the low pressure switch off of the top of the accumulator/dryer. That way the compressor cannot engage.
