2005 Explorer front end noise.

Hey guys need a little help with the wife’s 2005 Explorer Eddie Bauer 4.6 AWD. It has about 120k. Just bought it about a month ago. Since then I have Replaced all the wheel bearings, front and rear pads and rotors, changed oil, filter, rear diff and trans fluid. On the way home today it started making a rubbing noise in the front at slow speeds, could be at higher speeds as well but my hearing isn’t the greatest anymore lol. Seems to quiet down when you touch the brakes. I crawled under and didn’t see anything rubbing. Anyone have an idea what it could be or what to check?

ii would jack up, wheel off the ground and rotate by hand.. May be backer plate bent slightly or rock in the caliper, etc.... I like to jack under the lower A arm under the shock so that the A frame and truck rise together and kind of keep the same alignment as the tire comes off the ground... you only need an inch.

I agree with steve’s assessment. Check to see if the metal shield behind the brakes has been bent out of shape. When they get pushed in it can make a terrible rubbing sound.
