4 speed trans option

hello. I have a 66 f100 352 3 speed 2wd. transmission. This 4 speed came up for sale. Owner said it is out of a f350 2wd. Will this trans work? Can I use my current Bellhousing? Thanks

That looks like a T-19 but could be a T-18. I put a T-19 in my '66 3-speed. It fit the bell and clutch. I switched the trans mount end for end, cut out the floor and scrounged a driveshaft.

T19, the T18 I don't think had a reverse switch. Should say so on the side.

F350's didn't have the T-19 until 1973. Prior to 1973, T-19's only installed in 500 and larger series trucks.

1965/72 F350's came with the New Process 435 4 speed.

1965 F100/250 352 4WD, 1965/66 352 F350, 1966 F250 352 4WD use a different bell housing than 1965/67 F100/250 352 2WD, 1966/67 F100 352 4WD, 1967 352 F350, 1968/76 F100/250 2WD/4WD & F350 360/390.

ND my 66 has a 435 and no reverse switch. Would be nice if it did.

I also have 66 with a new process 435 with no provision for a reverse light switch.

The circular depression on the cover says it's a BW imo.

Christmas, the later 435 cover has a reverse light switch and is a relatively easy swap.

Just following up on what Eric mentioned, here's a sample NP435 top with the reverse switch built in - the little red connector on the side. You swap this in and you can have easy backup light connector. All it does is ground the circuit to complete it.

From what I have found you cannot just swap the top cover - you need the shifter "cane" as well. At least for an F250 4x4 or F350...

The reason why is, backup lights were not mandated by the US Gov't on all series' of trucks, Bronco's and Econolines until the 1967 models were introduced (September 1966).

US Gov't said that Passenger Cars had to have standard equipment backup lamps beginning 1/1/1966.
