Since I have the interior of my truck torn apart, I figured I would pull the vacuum wiper motor and clean it all up and see if I can get the wipers working.
I will start off with a question. Does anyone know if you can get the metal rod that connects the control assembly with the ****? The parts book has that all as one piece.
For some reason I thought I had a **** that had a metal piece sticking out of it somewhere. I hope I didn't throw it away years ago.....
I found one cable on ebay for $109, not sure I need it that bad.
For anyone looking, it is part #BAAA17470A
I got the wiper motor out and I will bench test it soon. I saw a video where someone just hooked a shop vac up to it and moved the switch....
Also, anyone have tips on how to get the wiper arm off? I don't know that I need to, but it would be helpful if I need to re-position them when I get the motor back in and running.
As little as I drive it and only in the rain if I get stuck out in it. Rain-X may be a good solution as well.
Another thread mentioned Fickin Wiper Service and said they do a great job of rebuilding these....
Joe, those things show up on E-Bay every few weeks it seems. Prices are all over the map with some at giveaway and some like you saw for high bucks. Even whole motor assemblies with the rod show up. I was looking for dual-wiper connector linkage and keep seeing those parts you are looking for instead.
I just went through my spare parts and found I have a **** & cable that I won't be using. It's in good shape, and 24" long. Moves freely and the **** is in good shape. I'll send it to you if you can use it.

<edit> Sometimes the wiper arm gets stuck on the knurled shaft due to corrosion. You have to warm it up, pry a bit, chase around the lip in circles and continue to tap and pry it off. I found it best to not clean the knurl like crazy if you get it off, or it will fit too loose when re-assembly happens.
<double-edit> My cable is for a '48 to '50 and although the **** end looks like yours, I see some differences.
I know nothing about vacuum wipers, except they don't wipe when you are accelerating, since both my Standard Cab trucks have he optional electric wipers.
But Joe, I had trouble getting the wipers off of my 55. So I went to my local family owned garage. Steve, the youngest of the brothers said, "My Dad (who is deceased) has a tool that will get it off." It was a Trico slide hammer with a two pronged claw. A few slides of the hammer and it was off.
I will give Ficken a call today and see what he has to say.
Tom, do you have a picture of your cable. They have different part numbers. It's a straight forward part, so I wonder why they changed them. Maybe the motor is a bit different?
Here it is.
For size perspective, the cable has a 1965 quarter that I found in the dead hole of the back of the cab of my truck when I removed the seat.
The cable is 24" long.

I just put mine back in and did not get a photo, Wound not move at all, tried a little ATF in the port., swished around, let it sit overnite and it had vacuum. put a brake bleed on and it worked like a charm. Sometimes you get lucky.
Mine did not appear quite as crusty as yours however.
Does anyone have a diagram or picture of an original routing of the cable from switch to motor on 1952 F-1 vacuum wiper.I got mine apart and did not take any photos before??
I just messaged back and forth with Ray and he has a motor, but it looks like it won't work. The connector to the wiper arms are different.
Tom's cable might work. Since a photo has to be on the web to private message. Tom, does this look like the end of your cable?
You can post in a thread then put in a private message It's good to show this end to everyone though.
