My '65 F-250 Camper Special has side view mirrors, but I am not crazy about them.
I have read many of the posts from the "sticky" side view mirror thread. And, I think I have found some that I might like a bit better.
Before I move forward with making a change, I decided to share with the forum what I have and get some opinions on the existing pair.
Yes, they are big mirrors, but the support bars/braces take over the door, crowding out the "Custom Cab" emblem. It's just not a good look. Body work and painting are scheduled for this summer, and I am wondering what I should do.
I could eliminate the Custom Cab emblem and keep the mirrors after freshening up the braces and bolts.
Or, I could keep the emblem and go for a mirror with fewer braces, brackets, etc.
Or, perhaps I could remove the emblem and use the existing mirrors with fewer of the braces.
What do you think? (See the photos... assuming I am able to attach them...)

^ This mirror is an aftermarket "fitz-all" sold by auto parts stores.
Ford did offer a somewhat similar mirror beginning in 1975, see TYPE 8 in pic (below).
Its 'gooseneck' mirror head could be flipped over then pulled inwards, so it didn't stick out so far.
TYPE 2 and TYPE 3 are Western Junior mirrors offered 1966/79 for the former, 1967/79 for the latter.
Thank you... I am mulling that... Do you have any notions about possible sources for Western Jrs.?
Junk yard, ebay, swap meets. Easier to find to fit a bump side truck, won't fit correctly without some modifications but will still look much better than what is on there now. Depends what your end goal is, perfect restoration vs a nice driver.
My truck has the type 2 mirrors and I really like them. There's plenty of options available at junk yards and you should check out some online retailers.
Not mine, and too expensive for me, but you may be interested in these.
