I beams

The i beams on my 66 are bent. Would the i beams off a 73-79 fit. I want to switch to disc brakes so that would be a plus also.

I have swapped everything from a 1976 into my 1965. Bolt for bolt. Power steering, disk brakes & all bolt right up. If you can find a donor truck with the same engine, you'll need all kinds of brackets, bolts, proportion valve, booster & hard lines. I've never taken it in for an alignment after doing new ball joints, bushings and shocks. Drives perfectly straight!

Is there anyone in the myrtle beach sc area that has stock i beams for sale that fit drum brakes? Heres whats going on. Somewhere in the trucks history somebody cut the springs and c notched the front. Well when they bent the i beams the passenger side was bent more than the drivers side. So needless to say theres vibration. If i cant find stock beams then ill go ahead and get dream beams and do the whole deal. Just checking here first. This is my first time on the ford truck forums. Thanks

Christmas, did you noticed anything different with the spindles? Mine on my drum brake truck look just like those.

The beams were meant to be bent. Usually for caster camber adjustment. Might want to try taking them off and use a press and try to straighten them back out.

They bent the drivers side good tires perfect. They must have started on the passenger side and figured it out on the drivers side. Its bent front to back not up and down. Its hard to explain but its definitely not right. Spindles look normal

You might try calling a big truck tire shop and see if they can straighten them for you.

Chad, I don't know for sure but I think it has to do with how the external hardware mounts to them (backing plates, caliper carrier etrc)

Try this link http://www.car-part.com/index.htm

I'm sure someone close to you will have some. They don't list every part they have on here so you need to get creative and try different parts in order to find someone who has a truck you can get parts from. Also if you ever want a sway bar on the front try to find a 75-79 and get the radius arms with the I beams. The D5TZ-5C499-A sway bar brackets that match up to the radius arms are getting hard to find but are the same 75-79 F100 to 350 and 75-91 Econoline.
Well for some reason the link won't work so just type it in.

I have a pair of 78 beams and soon set of 65
I purchased 78 for disc conversion, then decided to use drop beams, so the spindles are not with 78, just beams
65 will have spindles attached for drum use.
i say soon for 65, because I have not pulled them yet, but plan to soon.
if anyone wants them, let me know
heavy, so shipping from Dallas TX area may not be cheap
it will only cost you shipping
I am sure pay it forward will come around to be at some point.
