I'm new to this forum so please excuse me if this question has appeared before. I have a 67 F250 2 wheel drive that I want to convert to disc brakes on the front. Are any of the later Ford disc setups compatiable with the 67 and what if anything do I need besides the backing plates, calipers, etc? This truck also lacks power brakes so I also need to know if the later power master cylinders will bolt up.
Dave the easiest thing to do is to find a like F250 through 79 and harvest the I-beams, brake lines, booster, master cylinder. I would suggest using the master as a core for a reman one. Believe me changing the whole I-beam setup is easier than dealing with the kingpins. I would have never thought so until I did it. I would also consider getting the power steering.
I have a 1970 F250 with disc brakes and a 1967 F100. I'm putting the motor and rearend from my 67 to my 70. My only problem is that my 70 is a eight bolt and my 67 is five bolt. So how do I go about changing my 1970 F250 from eight bolt to five bolt while keeping disc brakes?
JC, the only way to do this with out spending a lot on money is to use the rear from your old truck and get the I-beams from a donor 150 through 79. I bought a 76 for parts for my 66 for $200.00.
