I've searched and not found so sorry if this has been hashed out.
Where in the world can you mount a CB antenna on these 'AlumaDuties'? I might be able to bend a piece of stock with multiple angles on the fender well near the windshield but, other than that I'm at a loss as to where.
It needs to be able to clear the truck camper when mounted (that is the hard part).
Here is what I did. Same constraint as you, hauling a TC. I fabbed the bracket and mounted it to the hood hinge bracket base. It handles a 3ft fire stick OK, but prob not sturdy enough for a 5 footer.
I've tried regular antennas and no ground plane and have very bad luck getting it to work in this truck, terrible SWR readings. I may try again in cooler weather, but for now the juice ain't worth the squeeze.
Thank you all. I looked at that plastic/windshield location too and called a local CB shop. Doesn't look good for now. He told me it was hard to get a good ground plane on these trucks. I'll keep you posted. Thanx for the ideas though!
I have seen CB antennas mounted on the front bumper of a truck with a camper in the bed. If done correctly it can look clean. I'm looking into doing this as a possibility as well....just a thought....good luck.
Along with this antenna location where is everyone mounting their radios. I have a really sweet Stryker but I cannot figure out a good location for it.....

totally out of the way. Within reach of driver and can hear the built in speaker.

What radio is that? It looks like a much more manageable size than mine. Thanks for posting, I am thinking I may have hope to get another installed after all. This cab has much less space for mounting things. Now to watch for an antenna mount area. I used a firestick off the front of my 2005 and was happy with the location. Aluminum sounds like it is much more work to get a signal. I'll be following. Thanks again.
I know that the folks at antenna far also sell antennas specific to vehicles with no ground plane Im going to be looking into that for my truck as well.

I really like the size of that radio. I currently have a Stryker 497 and it is really big. May have to sell it and the old Ranger and get into that 94......
I wonder if that little radio would fit under the sliding door at the front of the center console. Seems like its small enough, would more than likely have to cut the bottom out of it though....
