The nice thing about it is the NMO mount is already incorporated in there. I have a height issue and this looks like it should clear with the antenna off to fit in the garage.
In using a stainless steel bracket, could there be the possibility of bimetallic corrosion due to galvanic exchange in wet environments, especially around the sea coast ??
Pricy but still nice. Only thing I just realized was it will not work with center high mount camera. Have to pull my light and see what the housing looks like to see if I may be able to modify the mount.......

I saw that one, but it is too tall to allow me to fint in the garage, I have about 1.5" from the roof of the truck to cleat the opening. The camera mount one actually sits just below the roof line and would be perfect even with the cap on when antenna is not.
Has anyone here looked into one of these mounts? Or are you using one that you can give some feed back on? Looks like a really clean install, pricy though. I am thinking of this with a Larson 27 antenna on it......
I bit the bullet and bought this for my truck. I also have a camera in my lamp, all that has to be done is the lamp housing needs to be trimmed slightly to make it work. I haven't installed it yet but I will in the next few days and let you all know how it goes. I can attest that it is built very well and what mad me choose this one over the Larson is the Bullet Proof product doesn't use the drywall wing nuts to hel support the mount they provide an aluminum support plate.
I called and talked to them and they told me the same about trimming the light, sounds like at the very top. I am very interested to see your thoughts on the install and performance.
I did pull the trigger on the Stryker 94, man is that a tiny little radio, now to decide if I want to trim out the back of the sliding door console for it to fit in there and still close. Not sure if there are any wire harnesses that pass under it. MY other option is to mount it on the panel below steering wheel on the right side, there is plenty of room and it doesn't look to get in the way while I'm driving.
Good lookin design, and price. But the height is out for me, I park my truck in my garage and there is not enough room to get it in there with that. I basically have about 1-1.5" from the roof to the opening (freaks the wife out when I back in),

About the only thing you will be able to use is a bumper mount. As far as antenna effectiveness, higher is always better, taller is always better, and generally obstructions around the antenna (like the body of the truck with a bumper mount) will seriously impede effectiveness. There are also some foldover/lay-over antenna mounts out there, one company even has one that's powered. But I think all of those would still be taller than 1.5".
The lowest one I've been able to find is the one that Sarge posted. with the antenna unscrewed from it I can clear the garage opening from the pics I have seen installed on f150's. I am hoping Sarge will post up some good pics from his install and I can verify it on a Superduty. I am not opposed to taking the antenna off when not using it, It would normally only be on when traveling anyway.

If you're going to be pulling it off and on anyways, would a stake pocket mount work for you? They wouldn't work for the OP, but might in your case.
