So figure I would start this as I didn't see anything about it. However it looks like Ford is answering our fleet prayer! Starting in 2017 Ford dropped the S135 axle from the 450&550 C&C and the results have been an issue. Especially in the mixed use fleet I manage. The M300 is not up to the task of being loaded at continuous GAWR and surviving long term.
I heard the new F-600 will bring back a updated genuine medium duty sqaure tube S135 axle with revised outer hub bearings and extra oil capacity. The F-600 will have a higher GVWR ( supposed to be 22k). Who has some more information?

I don't think there is a major issue with the M300. Sure there were some early bugs (me included) but for me and everyone I know the axle has performed flawlessly. It has the same size carrier bearings and wheel bearings as a S130.
And the F-600 is using the M300. Not surprising since the housing is rated at 40000 LB GCWR.
How do you figure the M300 is going to be used? That's certainly not what's in the truck on display here at the WTS. While the issues of the M300 are probably not wide spread in the consumer market its become a burden to the vocational fleet user. These axles do not survive the same as the previous S135 axles did. Early pinion bearing failure and carrier issues are more common than you think. Don't get me wrong the M300 is a drastic much needed improvement over the Dana 80 that was used too long but the M300 is just not right in all vocational applications.
Did not know this, this solves my dilemma of to buy a F550 with the 6 speed trans or the 10 speed. With the F600 in the mix I'll be waiting till it is out.....

Yeah, unless you are talking about a different truck, the one I see clearly has a Dana M300 housing. Not to say the bearings can be bigger, but the housing is definitely M300 origin.
Also, the previous gen CC used a Dana S110, with the S130 appearing in only a few late model trucks. Not arguing you haven't experienced issues, but the vast majority of these rears have no issues, even hotshotters with 150K miles on their trucks.
This thing is amazing! Any word about if its available in a crew cab? Because all ive seen is a regular cab. They also said the brakes are upgraded over the f550 and the f550's brakes are already huge so really looking forward to seeing how big they are.
