have a 2001 f-250 SD 5.4 and suddenly when im driving and I switch the lights on with the lightswitch the speedo needle jumps back and returns to current speed.
Anyone know this issue?
Thanks
Ok thats what I was thinking about. I was installing a different radio so maybe something is not realy connected.
Also have a strange problem. When i shut the engine, take key out switch off lights and open door a hear the warning sound and the radio switches on! Cant switch it off with power button. Ever seen this?
Sounds like you have some incorrect wiring going on with your radio install. Most aftermarket radios have the same wire color designations (if you are using an aftermarket wire harness adapter, like a Sosche). Make sure yellow to battery (radio memory), red = power, etc. My 2005 keeps radio power active after key is off & removed until the driver door is
opened.

Thanks,
it all looks like a bigger problem somewhere or better said everywhere. To the radio issue came some more: Speedo - lays down on zero when driving, only sometimes jumps up. Parking lights no function, Dash ilumination no, Dome lights and bed light nothing.....Every day comes a new electrical problem but I guess they are all kind of connected !! All fuses are OK. All bulbs are OK
The 2006 F250 I had for one month had the same issue: speedometer would die and all dash lights would stop working, including the radio. I found an issue with one of the two large wire connectors at the top of the gauge pod (connector on the left when facing the gauges). If I wiggled it slightly it would come back on. The wiring to that connector is very tight, really no slack. I ended up removing one pin at a time, checking the connection to its wire, recrimp and reseat. I did this to all of them, figured normal truck vibration worked one (or more) loose. This resolved my dash issue.
Then truck was totaled one week later when I was rear ended by an SUV going 60 mph while I sat at a stoplight.

i will have a look at those connectors thanks for that. I also started to work my way to the park lamp relay under dash to check it.
When i switch the light switch on I dont have 12v on the brown wire thats comes out of it and is leading to all parking lamps.
I had a fake alarm light installed years ago.
Sometimes I would go out in garage hours later and radio would be on.
Radio normally went off after door was opened.
One day all gauges and lights on dash went haywire.
Went back to my alarm tech and had him re do fake alarm light.
