Hi everybody:
Regarding bezels on dash, there are 2 bezels on some or all models, even older models 48- late sixties, one is CHOKE, the other is THROTTLE.
I know the choke is the cable connected to the carburetor for speeding engine warm up in cold weather, but what is the throttle. I appreciate all your comments.

It’s often referred to as “the poor man’s cruise control”

Throttle is used for fast idle on manual choke engines as they had no fast idle cam. At least mine didn't on the 292 2BBl carb. It also was used to increase engine rpm when trucks were equipped with PTO on the transmission to run accessories such as a winch on a small wrecker.
The manual cautions it isn't to be used for "cruise control"; I remember reading somewhere that farmers and ranchers when working solo out in the pasture would set the truck into a slowish crawl and climb into the bed to throw hay bales or whatever. Pretty handy dingus.
