Hi everyone, looking for some insight. Looking for some extra power , nothing crazy. Was thinking of installing a set of “baby swamps”, along with a reburn of my ts6 chip, along with a clutch upgrade to a reputable solid flywheel kit. Im not really interested in upgrading the rest of my fuel system or hpop. From my reading with the upgraded from stock but not crazy injector size that the swamps have, i should be OK without other upgrades. Currently i have a bone stock 97 f350 other than a tymar intake, 4 inch straight pipe and ts6 chip. Any ballpark ideas on hp& torque these could bring? Thanks
Do Comp 910s. Stock springs are weak and really clapped out with mileage. My turd revs so much easier with them. Spend the time to shim to correct height.
I'm running 160/0's from Rosewood (which I highly recommend, by the way) through a LUK stock replacement without any issue and it tows well. Reburn the chip with some good tunes for the injectors you decide on. E-fuel and a Super Duty 17* HPOP wouldn't be bad additions to your plans to provide a little bit of margin to build upon, but if you're conservative with the tunes and don't drive it like a rental, you should be fine with the stock HPOP and fuel.
I would definitely recommend getting an EGT gauge and a fuel pressure gauge in the truck since you'll be getting close to the limits of the stock turbo and fuel pump, but I think you'll be happy with the truck with those upgrades. I also elected to add a Riffraff billet compressor wheel to the turbo, and do a cheap EBP delete, but those are probably marginal gains over what you'll see compared to bigger injectors.
I did a video series on my YT channel showing the results (towing) after each upgrade if you're interested in seeing it.
