Ok, i changed 3 cable ends this evening. But i made a discovery. ... my hood light went off and on dependent on the connection on the driver side only.... leading to the question, could corrosion happen inside the lead on the passenger side, effectively insulating/ isolating that battery and leaving me running this truck on one battery?
Yes, there was corrosion. Thats the plugs i got into. The only one i didnt have a new end for, is passenger positive. The carry through, because its larger, and, i presumed that as a pass through, it would be the best off. But with no power (apparently) coming from the passenger battery (new, 12.8v) to the truck, i was curious if corrosion could be the culprit, or something else hinky?
The 3 i replaced, have a resistance of 1 to 2. The one in question, doesnt register at all. And just for giggles i checked resistance from across and it was 6... so yeah... that connector seems to be insulated from the cable...
